Fujifilm X-T3

I’ve been after an upgrade for a while for our Queensland trip! After coming to the realisation that the Sony a7iii was virtually impossible to get my hands on, I accidentally came across the X-T3 – after some research (26.1-megapixel sensor, it can shoot 4K video at 60 fps) we both soon realised that buying this camera was a no-brainer . I’m writing this a few days after purchasing it from Ted’s Cameras, but so far I’m absolutely in love with it.

The only downfall I’ve encountered so far is that due to how brand new this camera is, Lightroom currently doesn’t support RAW files. Therefore, I’ve currently set my camera to both JPEG and RAW. However, I am able to edit JPEG files on Lightroom 6.

Sony a6000

This is the first camera I ever bought. I think I’ll always stay loyal, every photo on my Instagram has been taken by this camera and for the price, I’ve never been disappointed with the quality. I would say that this camera is perfect for travel and beginners eager to learn more about taking photos!

Canon g7x

I bought this camera mainly to take fun videos whilst we’re in Australia and also to take photos when I can’t be bothered lugging a bigger camera around with me. It’s a brilliant camera which is a lot of fun to use and it’s been perfect for our travels so far.

GoPro Hero 4

When travelling, having a GoPro is a must. I’ve owned a GoPro for several years now and it’s so much fun to use for travelling or on family holidays. I’m super excited to use it whilst exploring tropical Queensland!

Fujinon XF 18-55MM F/2.8-4 OIS

I love shooting landscapes and to be honest, I was after the 10-24MM F/4 wide angle lens which wasn’t in stock anywhere, so decided to go for the kit lens. Apprehensive at first, this lens has brilliant image quality, image stabilisation, sharpness and a fairly decent size. This will definitely be my most used lens over the next few months! This photo below was taken on this lens – the quality really does amaze me.

Rokinon/Samyang 12mm/F.20

This is such a fantastic lens which you’ll find in pretty much any ‘best lens’ lists. I’m definitely guilty of not using this lens as much as I should, but after purchasing a new camera I’m pretty keen to learn more about it. This lens is brilliant for astrophotography and I’m excited to use it over the next couple of months!

Sony E Mount 16-50mm

I’ve read some pretty bad reviews about this lens recently, but for me personally, I’ve really enjoyed using it over the last two years. Every landscape photo I’ve taken has been with this lens, and whilst it probably isn’t well suited for somebody with a little more experience, for a beginner I’d say you’ll have a lot of fun using it.

Sony E 55-210mm F/4.5

I really love this lens and I’ll continue to use it with the a6000. I bought this last year as I’ve wanted a telephoto lens for sometime, and with the wildlife over here in Australia, it would seem daft not to invest.

Instax Mini 90

We absolutely love this camera. We bought this just for a bit of fun and to instantly capture memories to put in our pockets. It really is a pleasure to use and we’ve captured so many memories in such a unique way!

Filters, SD Card

I find purchasing a filter for your lens is an essential for protecting your lenses. I recently purchased the Real Pro Protector from Ted’s Cameras in order to protect my lens on the Fujifilm. I also have two extra polarising filters for the Sony lenses. For the SD Cards, I’m currently using a 32GB and a 64GB SanDisk Extreme – both are super quick and support 4K Ultra.

Hard Drives

I never realised how essential owning a Hard drive is until I bought one. When travelling, I’m taking hundreds of photos at a time, so it’s important to create as much space as possible so I’m not constantly deleting images!

I don’t tend to use a tripod too much but I find that carrying one around is always handy. I purchased the Manfrotto PIXI Mini Tripod a couple of years ago and it comes with me on all of my trips. It’s great to capture photos with everyone together or for night photography.
